Position Title:                                   Director of Education

JOB SUMMARY


The Director of Education is responsible for overseeing and guiding the educational programs, curriculum development, and instructional strategies within the educational institution. The role ensures compliance with state and federal educational policies, promotes student achievement, and fosters professional development for educators. The Director serves as the primary liaison between the Cosmetology Education Services and schools, advocating for policies and program that enhance educational outcomes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Educational Leadership and Strategic Planning


·      Develop and implement the organization educational vision, goals, and strategic initiatives.

·      Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessments with state and federal standards.

·      Provide leadership in the development of innovative educational programs and instructional strategies.

·      Analyze student performance data to inform decision-making and improve educational outcomes.

·      Oversee the integration of technology in teaching and learning.


CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

·      Lead the development, review, and revision of curricula to meet educational standards.

·      Ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are reflected in curriculum and instructional practices.

·      Support the implementation of special education, gifted programs, and career & technical education.

·      Promote best practices in teaching and learning through research-based methodologies.

 

POLICY, COMPLIANCE AND ACCREDITATION


·      Ensure compliance with state and federal education regulations and accreditation requirements.

·      Develop and update policies in collaboration with the Organization.

·      Monitor and report on educational performance metrics to the Board and stakeholders.


STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS

·      Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Education, school administrators, and the community.

·      Engage with parents, teachers, and community organizations to enhance student learning opportunities.

·      Advocate for funding and resources to support educational initiatives.

BUDGET AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

·      Develop and manage budgets related to educational programs and staff development.

·      Identify and secure funding sources, including grants, to support instructional initiatives.

·      Oversee resource allocation to ensure equitable access to quality education.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

·      Associate or Bachelor in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

·      Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in education leadership, curriculum development, or administration.

·      Prefer a Teaching certification and administrative licensure.

·      Experience working with boards and state education agencies.

·      Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.

·      Ability to analyze data to drive instructional and policy decisions.

WORK CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL
